Too many kids with learning-related visual
problems have been diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit/
Hyperactivity Disorder), which is treated with medication.
Although the medication yields positive results, it can very often treat the
symptoms rather than the underlying problem.
In my children's vision practice,
I have seen vision therapy improve the reading skills and attention span in
many ADHD kids.
In one case a 7 year old
girl who had been on Concerta, was able to discontinue her medication after
completing this program. Another child, who was in remedial reading was
put into an advanced reading program after doing the Vision & Learning activities.
